NZEB_LAB Research Infrastructure on Integration of Solar Energy Systems in Buildings

NZEB_LAB Research Infrastructure on Integration of Solar Energy Systems in Buildings was approved for inclusion into the National Roadmap and European Infrastructure for Research in the area of energy.

The National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG – Laboratório Nacional de Energia e Geologia) and Moura Technological Park (LOGIC IN – Lógica-Sociedade Gestora do Parque Tecnológico de Moura EM SA) are the main partners and now begin their joint activity, after winning a competition launched by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

NZEB_LAB’s goal is to make adequate infrastructure available to the European industry testing of Photovoltaic Solar Thermal Systems solutions as well as testing integrated solutions in buildings, under NZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) concept. NZEB_LAB constitutes itself as scientific infrastructure to support projects and scientific development of products and advanced solar technologies.

In this partnership LNEG has the Experimental Building “Solar XXI building” which is a building of nearly zero energy, the Laboratory and solar systems test Facilities (LES), the Materials and Coatings Laboratory (LMR) and testing facilities for photovoltaic modules from Logic, EM SA in Moura.

This infrastructure is one of the four selected in the area of Energy Projects, which will be developed in the coming years in Portugal and is part of the Roadmap Infrastructure for European Research. More information
